Danielle Falconer (on parental leave)

About Danielle Falconer

Danielle is currently on parental leave. In her absence please contact her secretary Robyn, who will direct you to the most appropriate person to assist you.

Career to date

“ I started my legal career with Gibson Sheat in 2005, being exposed to a very broad range of employment and general commercial law issues and transactions.  This breadth of experience has become invaluable to me and my clients as I continue to develop my skills in more specialised areas of the law and business.”

Danielle has a significant expertise in employment law.  She advises employers and employees on all matters of employment law, including employment agreements, personal grievances, performance and disciplinary issues as well as restructuring and redundancies.  Danielle relies on her complementary commercial knowledge to assist clients with the employment issues involved when buying and selling businesses.

Danielle has a keen interest in innovation through technology, and regularly advises clients on non-disclosure agreements, licensing (EULAs), SAAS agreements, supply contracts as well as Ecommerce terms and conditions.

In addition, Danielle uses her general experience to advise clients in areas such as commercial property and business sales and purchases, franchising, business structures, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions and commercial leasing.

My approach to working with my clients

My approach to practice is professional and knowledgeable, with an ongoing interest about what is happening in my clients' environment that extends beyond their immediate legal needs.

The best piece of advice I've ever been given

Theodore Roosevelt's famous quote - "Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though chequered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in a grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat."

What stimulates me?

Essentially, sharing my knowledge and experience to assist people in solving problems and seeing past challenges is very rewarding.  I relish the opportunity to work with innovative people and businesses who are the forefront of changing our everyday landscape through developments in technology.

What I enjoy outside of work

When I'm not at work I enjoy sport (both as a participant and a spectator), movies, dinners out and travelling.  Spending time with friends and family is also high on my priority list.

If I wasn't a lawyer I'd...

A professional athlete or permanent traveller (with a steady flow of cash)
