About

Carolyn has been helping clients achieve their commercial property goals since 2003. She's worked on sales and purchases, mergers and acquisitions, commercial leasing, development and subdivisions. Whether you're a large institutional investor acquiring an interest in an established portfolio, or you're a family sitting on a large section wondering if you can subdivide - Carolyn can help you.

Carolyn has recently advised some first-time investors on off-the-plan purchases, helped a client negotiate and register its forestry right, and negotiated rent relief for a commercial tenant adversely affected by Covid lockdowns. She says, "I believe being a good lawyer is about more than knowing what the law is. It's about being an outcome-focused problem solver who can collaborate with clients to help them achieve their goals."

For the best results in a difficult situation, Carolyn recommends getting legal advice early on. She was recently involved in a receivership sale where the client sought advice early, and as a result, the sale could be set up right to ensure smooth sailing through to settlement.

Carolyn is passionate about property. She drives her husband nuts by checking out new listings across multiple regions on a daily basis. She also loves property law and enjoys solving problems by navigating the rules that apply to our property system. She couldn't see herself as anything other than a lawyer.

Carolyn is a member of the Property Law Section of the NZ Law Society. She sits on the Section's Land Titles Committee which provides Land Information New Zealand with a lawyers' view of how LINZ is impacting the profession and you, as our clients.

When she's not at work, Carolyn loves hanging out with her family at the beach, walking around the Wellington hills, and trying to keep up with her young son.
