Services

Gibson Sheat has been the trusted advisors to Crown Agencies and Government Departments since 2003.

We have a proven track record of providing expert commercial and property advice to a range of Ministries, tailored to suit the particular needs at the time.

Our bread and butter work with Government revolves around commercial property advice, particularly around leased property portfolios and Crown-Maori relations. We have significant experience in guiding Agencies through the process of implementing Treaty of Waitangi property settlement transactions, usually involving long-term leaseback leases over strategically important assets.

Working with Crown Agencies to rationalise their property portfolios sees us typically negotiating and implementing a variety of co-location agreements involving multiple parties. We provide focused advice on property acquisitions and disposal, along with responding to day-to-day enquiries that arise with large property portfolios.

Our Government work also extends to advising on complex contractual documentation, often involving construction projects and the procurement issues that arise. We have assisted our Crown clients with resolving commercial disputes ranging from large-scale infrastructure projects to residential tenancy issues.

Tony Herring leads our expertise in this area, supported by a team of experienced experts. Our team is able to provide cost-effective and timely advice for all of your commercial and property needs and we welcome enquiries about all issues large or small.
