About

Laura grew up in Hawkes Bay and relocated to Wellington to study Law, Political Science, and Criminology at Victoria University. After being admitted to the bar in 2020 she started working in a small general practice law firm in Lower Hutt before coming to Gibson Sheat.

She is experienced in private client work including residential and commercial conveyancing, enduring powers of attorney and wills, residential care loans and retirement village transactions, independent legal advice for loan agreements and guarantees, as well as advising on relationship property matters such as contracting out agreements and separations.

While Laura is based in our Lower Hutt office, she is available to meet clients in any of the Gibson Sheat offices.

Laura is passionate about providing down to earth and easy to understand advice to clients. She is an accomplished problem solver and enjoys working with couples and families from all walks of life to find practical solutions for their relationship property to get an outcome that everyone can be happy with.

She is often working with first home buyers to help simplify and navigate the intimidating process of purchasing their home.

Laura is a member of the NZLS Wellington Women in Law Committee.

Outside of work
Outside of work Laura is working towards becoming fluent in NZ Sign Language and enjoys keeping active with ballet training and walking through the Wellington Regional Trails.

She enjoys road trips around New Zealand and trying out local cafes for a good coffee with friends and family.
