Georgia studied at Victoria University, Wellington, where she completed a conjoint degree of a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts majoring in Māori Resource Management and Māori Studies.
2021 saw Georgia return to Hawke's Bay to be closer to family whilst sitting the bar. After gaining experience as a solicitor at Willis Legal in Hawke's Bay, a return to Wellington took place to take the next step in her career with Gibson Sheat.
As a solicitor in the commercial team in Wellington, Georgia handles areas of the law, such as;
- Buying, selling or merging businesses
- Employment matters
- Commercial property
- Māori business
- Government & crown
Georgia really enjoys interacting with clients and collaborating with her team to create the best possible outcome for the client, she also has experience with residential conveyancing and private client matters.
Interestingly, Georgia volunteered at Community Law Wellington on their Prison Project and Student Rights services. Student Rights provided parents at school information relating to the unchecked judicial body that is the school. The Prison Project provided prisoners with access to legal services.
Outside of work you may find Georgia participating in outdoor adventures, staying connected with friends and family, playing social netball and supporting the Hawke's Bay Magpies.
