About

Tenille spent almost five years at Russell McVeagh in Auckland advising on corporate and finance transactions for listed companies, private equity firms and banks. After a brief stint working on three international golf tournaments, she followed her interest in sports law to London.

In London, Tenille was fortunate to gain a wide range of in-house experience as legal counsel at IMG, one of the world's largest sports agencies. There she worked on a wide range of commercial matters related to live sports events and media distribution including sponsorship, media licensing, venue, ticketing, merchandising, talent appearances and operations.

Returning to the safety of home in the time of Covid, Tenille joined Gibson Sheat's commercial and sports law team in February 2021. Here she applies the skills learned from working on some of the world's largest sporting properties and on novel issues facing the sporting world for the benefit of our sport and recreation community.

In 2020 Tenille completed a Masters of Laws in Sports Law and Practice, with a dissertation on the maternity rights of elite athletes.

Tenille is a member of the Australia and New Zealand Sports Law Association, a Board Member of Golf New Zealand and Badminton Wellington, and is a past Board Member and Treasurer of Achilles New Zealand.

Outside of work, Tenille is involved with a range of sports and recreation activities, from hockey to trail running.
