About

Hamish was admitted to the bar in 1975 after graduating from Victoria University with a law degree. He gained commercial and property experience working with law firms in Wellington before becoming a banking & finance partner in 1987 with Brandon Brookfield and then with Simpson Grierson on the merger of the two firms in 1990, for the next 13 years.

After four years with a property investment and development company, Hamish joined Terry Nowland and Jackie Liddell in 2008 to form Nowland Gordon & Associates, where he practised until its acquisition in November 2020 by Gibson Sheat.

Hamish is now a consultant in Gibson Sheat's Wellington office commercial team.

Outside of work, Hamish enjoys keeping in touch with family and long-time friends, often by means of travel, skiing, hunting, cycling and boating (but not golf).
