About

Cameron believes the strength of any organisation lies in its people. As CEO of Gibson Sheat, he leads with a hands-on, down-to-earth style that puts people first, whether they are part of the team, a long-standing client, or a community partner. His focus is on building a workplace that is connected, transparent, and always moving forward.

He works closely with Gibson Sheat’s Partners, Chair and Executive Committee to set and drive our long-term strategy. He also leads our managers who oversee the key operational areas including finance, HR, IT, marketing, and office operations.

Alongside his internal leadership, Cameron plays an active role in managing major client relationships and representing the firm across wider networks. These include LawLink, the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce, iwi and community organisations and other business and professional alliances.

Cameron’s career spans private practice, in-house legal work, and senior executive roles in national organisations. This combination of legal and commercial experience allows him to connect the needs of clients, teams and the broader business environment.

He lives by the principle ‘treat everyone like your Nana,’ a philosophy that shapes his leadership style. Through open-door conversations and Kōrero, his regular all staff communications, he helps people feel connected, supported, and part of something bigger.

Cameron is committed to social justice and community impact. He chaired Community Law Centres of Aotearoa for nine years and continues that advocacy through governance roles with the Laura Fergusson Trust, both in Wellington and nationally. He also serves as a Director of various entities and is a member of the Australasian Legal Practice Management Association and the Institute of Directors.

Outside of work, Cameron enjoys quality time with his family and catching up with friends over a good meal. He is always up for a conversation, whether it is over coffee, in the office or simply taking time to check in with someone.
