My Career to Date
Prior to joining Gibson Sheat I spent over 11 years in a small general practice in the Wellington CBD where I gained a wide range of experience and skills. Prior to this, I gained my LLB at Victoria University of Wellington. Before going to university I worked as an Assistant Land Registrar at Land Information New Zealand.
My approach to working with my clients
Listen to what they have to say. Understand their problem. Tell them what they need to know.
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given
“Time is running out”
What stimulates me
The ‘cut and thrust’ of dispute resolution.
What I enjoy outside of work
I have a strong interest in sailing and belong to the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club. I also have real passion for food and wine and trained as a chef when I first left school. I still love cooking and trying out new restaurants and bars.
If I wasn’t a lawyer I’d be
A carpenter or a cabinet maker. There is something very satisfying about taking a rough piece of timber and making it into something beautiful.
