About Us

    Our Impact

    Making a positive difference

    Community, environmental and social impact
At Gibson Sheat, we believe in using our time, skills, and resources to make a meaningful difference. We’re proud to support causes and communities that matter, whether that’s through pro bono work, donations, sponsorships, or simply showing up to help.

    Backing our communities

We’re proud to support local events, organisations, and initiatives that help our region thrive. Our sponsorships bring people together, strengthen community spirit and build lasting connections.

We’re a Platinum Partner of the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce and sponsor their Political Series, which brings national political leaders into the region to engage in kōrero with our business community.

We’re proud to support local schools, sports teams, fundraisers, and community initiatives across the regions we serve. Whether it’s helping a grassroots campaign, backing a cultural event, or contributing to a local cause, we’re committed to supporting the people and places that matter to our communities.

    Supporting the

    Causes we care about

Our donations go to a range of charities and community causes that reflect who we are as a firm. Many are nominated by our people and support things like wellbeing, inclusion, education, and care for those who need it most.

Some of the organisations we support include:

    Reducing our environmental impact

    Understanding our carbon footprint

We want to understand the environmental impact of our business and take practical steps to reduce it.

In 2025, we partnered with Trace to measure Gibson Sheat’s carbon footprint for the 2024 calendar year.

The assessment covered our Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions, including electricity, business travel, employee commuting, waste, technology and the goods and services we use.

We measured our footprint again for the 2025 calendar year. Our gross emissions reduced by approximately 28%, from 508.9 tonnes in 2024 to 367.2 tonnes in 2025.

Our emissions per full time employee also reduced from 6.4 tonnes to 4.8 tonnes.

    Our net zero commitment

Working towards net zero by 2030

Measuring our footprint has helped us understand where our emissions come from and where practical changes can be made.

We have set a target to achieve net zero emissions by 2030. Our target covers Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions.

We aim to reduce our gross emissions by up to 30% from our 2025 baseline before offsetting the emissions that remain.

    Tracking our progress

Our latest carbon report explains how our footprint was measured, where our emissions come from and how our 2025 results compare with 2024.

We will continue measuring our emissions each year and reporting on our progress towards net zero by 2030.

    The difference our people make

We encourage our people to get involved in causes that matter to them. Whether it is volunteering their time, sharing their skills, fundraising or lending a hand, our team finds meaningful ways to give back.

That same care guides the causes we support, the communities we contribute to and the practical steps we take to reduce our environmental impact.

It's all part of making a positive difference.
