Vikram helps people succeed in New Zealand in Hindi, Punjabi, or plain English
Vikram Singh advises business owners, entrepreneurs, investors and professionals on commercial, employment, and immigration matters. He is known for delivering practical, strategic advice that helps clients identify opportunities, manage risk, and achieve their goals.
Vikram works closely with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across a broad range of commercial matters. He advises on business structuring, shareholder agreements, governance, commercial contracts, business acquisitions and disposals, and commercial leasing. Drawing on both legal and business experience, he provides commercially focused advice that reflects the realities of running and growing a business.
His employment law practice includes advising employers and employees on employment agreements, workplace processes, restructures, personal grievances, compliance obligations, and dispute resolution. He works with businesses to navigate employment issues efficiently and minimise legal and commercial risk.
Vikram also has experience advising on complex immigration matters, including investor and entrepreneur visas, skilled migrant pathways, residence applications, family-based immigration matters, character issues, and challenging immigration decisions through judicial review proceedings.
His combined expertise in commercial, employment and immigration law allows him to provide integrated advice where business growth, workforce planning and immigration strategy intersect.
Before becoming a lawyer, Vikram owned and operated a successful café. That experience gave him first-hand insight into the opportunities, pressures and challenges faced by business owners. He understands that legal advice must not only be technically sound but also practical, commercial, and capable of being implemented in the real world.
Fluent in Hindi and Punjabi, Vikram regularly assists clients in their preferred language. Many of his clients speak English as a second language and value his ability to explain complex legal issues in a clear, straightforward, and accessible way.
Clients value Vikram's approachable manner, commercial mindset, and commitment to achieving practical outcomes. Much of his practice is built on referrals from existing clients, business owners, and trusted professional advisers.
Vikram is a member of the Employment Law Institute of New Zealand (ELINZ).
Outside of work, he enjoys exploring Wellington's food scene with friends and family.
