Patrick Rozendaal

Patrick Rozendaal advises businesses, investors, property owners and developers on a wide range of property and commercial matters. His areas of expertise include land development and subdivisions, joint ventures, commercial leasing, sales and purchases of businesses and shares, financing, unit titles, and asset protection through trust structuring.

His experience includes high-value transactions involving multiple parties, major development projects and complex commercial deals across a range of sectors. Patrick supports clients throughout the process, from due diligence and structuring through to completion and handover. Clients value his commercial insight, clear advice and ability to identify risks and opportunities early.

Patrick also helps individuals and families with residential property matters, including buying and selling homes. He regularly guides first-home buyers through the purchase process, helping them understand what is involved and make informed decisions. His experience across commercial, residential and private client work allows him to consider the wider picture and tailor his advice to each client’s circumstances.

Patrick is Team Leader of Gibson Sheat’s Commercial Property Team. He brings together broad experience in property and business law, allowing him to understand both the legal detail and the wider commercial considerations behind a transaction.

Patrick is a board member of Chilton Saint James School and is actively involved in the local community through the school, Alicetown Playcentre and the Romanian Orthodox Church of St Mary in Wellington.

A language enthusiast, Patrick speaks French, Romanian and Spanish. He is also conversational in Italian and has a basic understanding of New Zealand Sign Language. Outside of work, Patrick enjoys sport, travelling and spending time with his young family.
