Chelsea Cancian

Chelsea Cancian is Gibson Sheat’s Business Development and Marketing Manager. She leads the firm’s marketing, business development and communications activity, helping strengthen client relationships, grow the firm’s reach and bring key initiatives to life.

Chelsea works closely with the Gibson Sheat team to support marketing and business development. Her role includes website and digital marketing, content, advertising, campaigns, events, proposals, social media, CRM development, sponsorships and partnerships.

With a practical mindset and creative flair, Chelsea helps turn ideas into action. She is known for bringing energy, clarity and momentum to projects, whether she is launching a campaign, improving a process, coordinating an event or finding new ways to connect Gibson Sheat with clients, referrers and the wider community.

Chelsea plays a key role in building Gibson Sheat’s visibility across the regions it serves. She helps manage the firm’s sponsorships and partnerships, supports client engagement initiatives, and works on projects that strengthen relationships with local organisations, community groups and business networks.

Since joining Gibson Sheat in 2008, Chelsea has built a broad understanding of the firm from the ground up. Her experience spans accounts, reception, legal support, office coordination, HR support, events, marketing, and business development. This gives her a strong understanding of how the firm works and how to bring people together.

Outside of work, Chelsea enjoys Brazilian jiu-jitsu and MMA, creative projects, classic cars and exploring the Wairarapa region. She imported and restored her classic American car and is currently renovating a house bus, reflecting her hands-on approach and love of turning ideas into reality.
