Career to date
Before joining Gibson Sheat, I volunteered for three years at the Dunedin Community Law Centre. From there I worked at Deloitte Wellington in the Financial Services Industry specialising in tax compliance and consulting for superannuation schemes, banks, insurance companies and corporates. I was admitted as a solicitor in September 2016.

My Recent work
Being in both the commercial and private client teams means that I am involved in a variety of work. Recently my work has included sales and purchases of residential and commercial properties as well as administering Trusts, creating Wills and Enduring Powers of Attorney, refinancing and commercial leases. My approach to working with my clients
As a lawyer, clients come to you for advice in times that can be stressful, time pressured and sensitive. I aim to build close, trusted relationships with clients and be a go-to person in these situations. I achieve this by being empathetic towards clients whilst being honest, talking straight and giving practical, tailored-to-the-client advice.
The best piece of advice I've ever been given
No pressure… No diamonds.
What stimulates me?
While it may seem like a cliché, what stimulates me the most is making a positive difference to people whether this is in my professional or personal life.
I have high expectations for myself and feel a great sense of satisfaction when I set a hard-to-reach goal and achieve it.
What I enjoy outside of work
I can’t pass up a good activity that gets me out of the house. I love exploring new places near and far, brunching at cafés, group fitness gym classes and learning ballet. I enjoy cooking for others and some would say I have a small obsession for anything fashion and beauty related.
If I wasn't a lawyer I'd...
be utilising my finance and accounting background, or if I were to really branch out, working somewhere in the fashion industry.
