About the Role

As a Senior Solicitor or Associate in Gibson Sheat’s busy and friendly Wairarapa office, you will work across a wide range of areas, including but not limited to commercial property, trusts, and general commercial work for small and medium sized businesses. The firm will support you in developing other interest areas you have too. You will learn from other senior lawyers, and mentor junior and intermediate level lawyers.

Key Responsibilities

This position can be tailor made to your experience and interests! Depending on your areas of expertise and interests, your practice could include the following:

  • Residential Property
  • Commercial Property
  • General Commercial work for small and medium sized businesses
  • Estate Administration/Planning
  • Employment
  • Agri-business, farming and rural property/farm syndication
  • Trusts and Wills
Key Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of post-admission experience, working within a firm;
  • Natural at building rapport with new clients, and helping them to achieve their goals;
  • Business minded with good business acumen;
  • A strong marketing mind-set and always on the lookout for new opportunities;
  • Mentoring and coaching skills;
  • A self-starter that thrives on new experiences and opportunities and is flexible in their approach to work; and
  • Passionate about the living and working in the Wairarapa region.
