Summer Clerk - Masterton

We are looking for a Summer Clerk to join our Masterton office.

In this role, you will gain some experience and a lot of insight into a wide range of areas of law, including property, estates, trusts, rural law, employment and general commercial work. You will get the opportunity to learn from several senior authors, and will learn invaluable lessons which will help you set your legal career off on the right track.

We are looking for the kind of person that wakes up in the morning who wants to go to work and be surrounded by people who enjoy their job and work hard to exceed their clients’ expectations. We are also looking for someone who:

• Has completed at least three years of their law degree
• Has excellent research skills and who is methodical, logical and accurate
• Thrives on new experiences and opportunities — that is, you have a “can do”, “will do” and a “just do it” attitude
• Has an interest or has had some experience in farming, and
• Loves the Wairarapa region, and could potentially envisage a future working in our Masterton Gibson Sheat office.

Although we are ideally looking for a summer clerk, we welcome interest from other candidates who may be a little further on in their legal study or legal careers.
