About Sophie Pritchard
Career to date
"After graduating from Canterbury University with an LLB and a BA in Mass Communications and Political Science in 2007, I worked for a law firm in Auckland for a year doing property law before joining an in-house legal team doing property finance. I joined the Gibson Sheat team in May 2009."
Sophie has previously worked as a junior in-house legal counsel for a finance company. In this role her responsibilities included the monitoring of legal compliance by the company of statutes and regulation, the structuring of lending transactions, reviewing and drafting loan documentation and securities and mortgage enforcement.
At Gibson Sheat, Sophie is a member of our Mortgage Recovery team and deals with all aspects of mortgage enforcement on a day to day basis.
My recent work
I am involved in the specialist area of mortgage recovery and complete work for major banking and finance company clients.
My approach to working with my clients
I have an approachable, common sense manner. I like to communicate well and keep the client involved in every step.
The best piece of advice I've ever been given
Walk with the dreamers, the believers, the courageous, the cheerful, the planners, the doers, the successful people with their heads in the clouds and their feet on the ground. Let their spirit ignite a fire within you to leave this world better than when you found it. - Wilfred A. Peterson.
What stimulates me
I like to be proactive and get things done, by being organised and creative in my problem solving. I like to get out and achieve things each day and get satisfaction from knowing I achieved those goals.
What I enjoy outside of work
I like to keep fit, read, travel and socialise. I am happiest spending time with my family and friends.
If I wasn't a lawyer I'd be...
An Events Planner.
