About Sophie Kirton

Career to date

Sophie joined Gibson Sheat as a graduate in June 2007.  Since then she has worked on a wide range of legal matters.  As a member of our Commercial team, Sophie deals with all aspects of commercial law. Sophie is also a member of our Employment and Mortgage Recoveries teams.  Sophie particularly enjoys the challenge of employment law.

I'm friendly, and I try to be as clear and practical as possible.

An instance when I've undertaken a job where I got a great result for a client

In a commercial property transaction everything went wrong at the last minute and we had to furiously tidy things up for settlement to go ahead.

The best piece of advice I've ever been given

"You can achieve whatever you set your mind to."

What stimulates me

I like the variety in my work and the fact I learn new things everyday. I enjoy the people I work with and helping clients get things done.

What I enjoy outside of work

I like to spend time with family and friends, watch films, read books, play golf, travel, wine and dine, and drink good coffee.

If I wasn't a lawyer I'd be...

A physio. I have an idealistic view of being a physio for a sports team and travelling the world with them. Being a film reviewer or a food critic also sounds pretty good.
