About Bryce Williams
Career to date
"After a short stint in debt recovery work I was approached by a sole practitioner to work in his practice, where I worked in the areas of family and property law. After a couple of years I was employed by another sole practitioner who specialised in property law. I have handled numerous residential conveyancing files and a significant number of files for elderly and bereaved clients including: estate administration, retirement village work, enduring powers of attorney, wills and family trusts."
Bryce joined Gibson Sheat's Estates and Elder Law team in November 2009. In addition to preparing Wills and Enduring Powers of Attorney, Bryce specialises in assisting elderly clients with all their personal affairs including those for whom we may hold power of attorney, in managing their day-to-day living and business affairs. He also works with bereaved loved ones to support them through the legal and grief process, ensuring the deceased's wishes are carried out and their estate is properly administered.
My Recent Work
A wide range of matters including: private client work for elderly clients selling their house and shifting into a retirement village; administration of deceased's estates including preparation of deed of family arrangement involving multiple parties; and drafting complex wills for clients who have significant assets, companies (including LAQC), multiple trusts and preparation of letter of wishes for trust(s).

My approach to working with my clients
I am friendly, considerate and thorough in handling their affairs. I also ensure that the legal advice I provide is clear, accurate and understandable.
My clients aren't just numbers, but real people with real lives, which often times makes my work challenging, particularly when you receive a telephone call advising that a loved one has passed away. I recall on one occasion acting on a matter for an elderly couple who had just sold their house and were shifting into a retirement village. In between times one of them died and the other was left to continue on without their partner of many years.
The best pice of advice I've ever been given
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart...'
What stimulates me
Helping people work through difficult or challenging times in their lives. I also enjoy being part of a large team environment which fuels my extrovert personality.
What I enjoy outside of work
Spending time with my family and friends and perfecting my skills on my coffee machine. I am an avid cricket fan, enjoy nine holes of golf (or 18 when time permits) and am also involved in a church which is an integral part of my life.
If I wasn’t a lawyer I’d be
A policeman (specialising in traffic infringements). This is because my wife is always pointing out how I comment on other peoples' driving abilities (or lack thereof!)
