About Iain Feist

Career to Date

After two years working as a research counsel at the Wellington District Court I was employed by Parker and Associates, Wellington where I undertook a mix of insurance, construction and civil litigation. After a period in the UK working in debt recovery for financial institutions, I returned to NZ to work for Gibson Sheat.

My Recent Work

I have recently been undertaking various debt recovery applications, including defending a bank against claims of undue influence and advising builders on claims under the Construction Contracts Act.

My approach to working with my clients

I talk to the client to find out what their goals are, review all the material available and advise the client on their options for resolution.  

Most rewarding experience I've had at work

I have worked on some technically complicated files with input from experts in various areas. I find it rewarding when there is a real team approach from various experts who work together to get a result for their client.

The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given

Be prepared.

I am keen mountain biker and skier. I have recently started playing the ukulele.
