About Danielle Falconer

Career to Date

"I graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Laws and Commerce in 2005 and joined Gibson Sheat in March of that year.  After a year long stint in Europe in 2008/2009 (where I enjoyed the flexibility of working remotely and travelling at the same time), I returned to Gibson Sheat to continue the enjoyable challenge of advising on a wide variety of legal commercial and employment matters."

Danielle advises clients on areas such as commercial and residential conveyancing, trust and company formation and restructures, mergers and acquisitions, commercial leasing, credit contracts and consumer finance, securities, supply and distribution agreements as well as business sales and purchases.

Danielle has significant expertise in employment law. In particular, she uses her complementary commercial knowledge to assist clients involved in the buying or selling of their businesses.  She also advises employers and employees on all matters of employment law, including employment agreements, personal grievances and performance issues.

My approach to working with my clients

I like to think my approach to practice is professional and knowledgeable, with an ongoing interest about what is happening in my clients' environment that extends beyond their immediate legal needs.

The best piece of advice I've ever been given

Theodore Roosevelt's famous quote - "Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though chequered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in a grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat."

What motivates me

I enjoy assisting people to put their ideas into practice, and using my knowledge to find the best way to do so.

What I enjoy outside of work

When I'm not at work I enjoy sport (both as a participant and a spectator), movies, dinners out and travelling.  Spending time with friends and family is also high on my priority list.

If I wasn't a lawyer I'd be...

A professional athlete (in any sport would be good).
