Career to date

"I joined Gibson Sheat in 1990 and have specialised in Estates work for the whole of this period."

Rhonda has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the whole range of Estates and Elder Law work.  She shows great empathy when dealing with clients who she is often meeting at one of the most difficult and emotional times in their lives.  Clients appreciate her caring but firm and guiding approach.

Professional associations with which I'm involved

I am a fellow of the NZ Institute of Legal Executives.  I am also a member of the Wairarapa Business and Professional Women's Club.

My approach to working with my clients

I am sensitive but confident in my approach.

An instance when I've given a client a great result

I find it rewarding when producing correct documentation so that we can continue with the job.

The most challenging experience I've had at work

Gaining grants from the High Court for difficult applications.

The best piece of advice I've ever been given

Two pieces of advice I live by "Honesty is the best policy" and "Sleep on it - it's never as bad in the morning".

What stimulates me

I take great satisfaction in preparing documents and ensuring that they are correct and accurate. I like attention to detail and to see a job well done.  I'm also stimulated by travel - to anywhere, within New Zealand and overseas. I enjoy living different experiences, especially the challenges in non-English speaking countries.

What I enjoy outside of work

Spending time with family and friends, walking, cooking, reading and enjoying the outdoors.

Enjoying my garden and travelling.
