Career to date

"I have always been a secretary from the age of 16 and got into legal work at age 25, which is what I have mostly done since, apart from a break for a few years to raise children. I have worked for lawyers in most aspects of legal work including property, estates, commercial and litigation. I obtained my Legal Executive Certificate in 2005 which I have combined with secretarial work and thus enhanced my job satisfaction."

Linda is a qualified legal executive with extensive litigation support experience.  She is at the heart of our Lower Hutt litigation team, providing both legal executive and secretarial support.  Linda plays a critical role in client reporting and client ledger administration. 

My recent work

Drafting vacant possession proceedings and following through to obtaining court orders.

My approach to working with clients

My approach to working with clients of the lawyers I work for is to listen to what they have to say and assist if it is within my scope. If not, I make sure their requirements are attended to by one of the lawyers.

Best Advice I've ever been given

Treat others as you would like to be treated.

What stimulates me

Being able to think for myself. I like figuring out financial reconciliation problems.

What I enjoy outside of work

I enjoy family time with my three adult daughters and granddaughter. I have recently taken up off-road cycling which I am thoroughly enjoying, especially going on the Hutt River trail. I like being active, do a lot of walking, as well as some running, and I love rock n' roll dancing and going to the movies.

If I wasn't a legal executive I'd be...

I've always fancied owning a country/beachside property combined with a Bed & Breakfast business.
