Gibson Sheat is committed to the Wellington region and its people.

Gibson Sheat has been part of the Wellington community for over 80 years. We love the region – that's why we have chosen to live and work here.

We believe it is important that we make a contribution to our community both as an organisation and as individuals – it's part of what makes us tick – making a positive difference in peoples' lives.

Export Awards

Gibson Sheat was a lead sponsor of the Wellington Regional Export Awards between 2004 and 2008. In 2010 these awards were combined with the Wellington Gold Awards. Nigel Stirling, who leads our Exporting / International trade practice, remains a category judge.

Community Involvement

Cancer Society (Wellington Division) of New Zealand

Gibson Sheat supports the activities of the Wellington division through monetary contributions and by participation in "Relay for Life" and Daffodil Day fundraising. Gibson Sheat partner, Tony Southall, is Deputy Chairman of the Division.

First Foundation

Gibson Sheat provides an educational scholarship to a Victoria University Commerce student via the innovative First Foundation organisation. This student also obtains employment and mentoring from Gibson Sheat.

Cuba Street Carnival Trust

This unique event spotlights the cultural, musical and diverse performance artists of our region and is supported by the pro bono contribution of partner Nigel Moody, to the Board of Cuba Street Carnival.

Sport Wellington

Sport Wellington is the region's leading sports organisation and, until recently, partner Nigel Stirling was deputy chair.

Wellington City Mission

The firm supports the Wellington City Mission on an annual basis through charitable donations and also supports of many of its fundraising activities.

Partner, Peter Hobbs, is on the board of Trustees of the Ronald McDonald House Wellington Trust as child cancers representative.

Citizens Advice Bureau

A number of partners and staff volunteer at Citizens Advice Bureaus, providing free legal advice throughout the Wellington region.
